LaserMax Defense (LMD) Defense Pistol Enhancer (PAiL) M17 Pistol Laser/Light Module

This is our store's holy grail item at the moment:

We have obtained a small amount of surplus LaserMax Defense (LMD) Defense Pistol Enhancers (also known as a Pistol Aiming Laser or PAiL), a combination white light and IR flood light/laser combo that weighs almost nothing and can run for up to TWO hours nonstop. These units were created for the Sig Sauer's M17/M18 pistol that was adopted by the United State Army, who requested a laser/light module for their new pistols...

Until the Army did Army things. The story goes is that the Army paid for these lights, then proceeded to almost immediately discontinue their use in the field for unspecified reasons. The lights work just fine, but it seems that it might have been buyer's remorse on the part of the Army and decided to just scrap them. And scrap them they did, because a vast majority of these lights were to be "disposed of" once broken, not to be warrantied by LMD, and that most infantry units decided to just use their own personal bought lights and lasers instead. 

So consider these pretty nifty collector's items for sure, but they can hold their own as well for any general situation where you need a light on your M17. Because LMD never sold these to the civilian market, they are considered to be "hard-to-get".

They have three modes: White Light, IR Laser, and IR Flood, and run on a single CR123 battery. All this for like 2.3 oz of weight, which is basically nothing. Even if the Army decided that these weren't their best solution to a problem they made up in their minds, it doesn't mean you can't have one yourself!

These lights, while made for the M17/M18 series pistols, can be put on almost any regular mounting system if you wish to do so. The units were only produced in their distinctive coyote brown color. NOTE: These items are ITAR-restricted, meaning we can't sell them outside of the United States of America! Sorry!

Sold AS-IS: All the lights we have are confirmed to work (at least the white light, we don't have any way of checking the IR yet, but it's safe to assume they work as well). There may be cosmetic scuffs and dings on the units, but we can assure you that all the parts, switches, and important stuff work just as intended. Batteries are NOT included.
